A DIFFERENT Kind of Cancer Charity

Several times each year I am approached by a friend or family member with sweet intentions to raise money for a popular cancer charity. Whether they are running for the cure, relaying for life, or marathoning for lymphoma research, all of these charities have one thing in common:

THEY IGNORE NON-TOXIC, HOLISTIC CANCER THERAPIES.

I happen to have an affinity for alternative, nutrition-based approaches to cancer, seeing that I am alive today and thriving because of them.

Each and every single day I am SO GRATEFUL to look at my two daughters and know that following a natural route to healing enabled me to have them. My husband and my decision was prayerful and well-researched for my particular case, but as the past 5 years have gone by I have met many other cancer survivors who have also chosen non-toxic therapies and are thriving.

Recently, along with several of these survivors, we have helped found Healing Strong. Our first endeavor will be the Healing Strong: Conference and Retreat in September of this year in Atlanta. This faith-based event will share information about non-toxic healing methods with others and provide support, so that they too can make prayerful and purposeful decisions in their cancer care. We also stress the importance of proper nutrition in nourishing the body, no matter what treatment plan you choose.

The reality is- there are BILLIONS of dollars donated to large, corporate-like cancer charities that primarily fund pharmaceutical research and turn a blind eye to the truth about non-toxic healing.

Healing Strong is 100% volunteer-run (primarily from our living rooms and home offices!) and WE NEED YOUR HELP. We can’t get the word out about natural, nutrition-based cancer therapies if we sit back and just hope something changes.

The Healing Strong Conference and Retreat will take place over three days, September 13-15, 2013 alongside the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, Georgia. It is 100% planned and hosted by passionate volunteers who have been impacted by cancer and truly believe in the body’s natural abilities to heal. From our kitchen volunteers preparing a 100% organic plant-based menu, to our speakers, we will all be working together to provide support and love to our participants.

I know from experience that choosing natural cancer therapies can be a huge burden financially- primarily because insurance does not cover it. Therefore, we are offering scholarships, as we have the means to fund them, to our participants. Registration for the event covers everything for the weekend- organic food, shared lodging, and conference supplies. We are also offering a day-retreater rate for those who live in the Atlanta-metro area. (Enter Coupon Code: Cortney2013 for $50 off!)

Our belief that God is the true healer of our bodies is at the core of Healing Strong. He works to guide our hearts and comfort our minds as we navigate through the most challenging emotional and physical terrain most of us have ever had to endure. Without Him in this journey, we realize it would be very difficult to truly heal. We also know that we are completely dependent on Him to make the Healing Strong Conference and Retreat happen.

If you feel a pull on your heart-strings to support Healing Strong financially, you can do so by clicking on HealingStrong.com/conference and going to the Elise Echols Memorial Fund tab.

You can also mail a check directly to Healing Strong at: P.O. Box 3245, Cumming, GA. 30028. Please attach a note with the person’s name you are honoring through your donation so we can pray for them and their family.

Please know that no donation is too small (or too large) 🙂 You will be such a blessing to so many who may feel alone in their cancer treatment choice.

Please also feel free to also share this with anyone you feel would want to contribute in memory or in honor of their own loved ones, or if they themselves are struggling with cancer and are interested in learning more about how proper nutrition can improve their condition.

“For I Am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you.” -Isaiah 41:13

  1. That would be great. Please keep me posted, as I really want to hear the speakers. I assume that there will be some Q and A. Do you think those would be recorded as well? Obviously, I really wish that I could come down for the conference, but with the other trips to Atlanta prior to our moving there in mid-October, I cannot work it into my work schedule. Thanks again. BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed your post yesterday about your teaching career. It’s so good to hear of a teacher with that much passion. Keep up the good work in your new endeavors.

  2. Cortney, is this conference going to be recorded or videotaped? I am moving to Atlanta in October, but am not going to be able to make it down at the time of the conference. I was wondering if I could order the presentations and Q and As? Thanks for your time! Pam
