Well, hello! Recently I have gotten a few messages and comments asking if I am still alive, so I guess it is time to hop on here and share a bit about what has been going on lately.

So YES, in case you’re wondering, I’m still cancer-free 13 years now and so grateful to be turning 40 this year.

Last May we had our 5th baby and first boy, so our days are THAT kind of full and blessed. Our kids are now 12, 8, 7, 3, and 8 months, and our days are filled with homeschooling, baby feeding, lots of cooking and blending, big toddler feelings, and of course lots of fun, too.

Another big milestone that happened is my blog turning 10 last year! I can’t believe it has been that long. In that time I taught elementary school full-time, helped start HealingStrong, became a stay-at-home mom and had 4 out of 5 babies, and wrote 243 blog posts. And life was so busy last year, I forgot to say anything about it. So, yay for 10 years! And thank you all for reading!

I actually created an page listing out all of my blog posts by category a few years back. You can check it out HERE.

For many years after starting this blog in 2011 I would research, write, and publish several times a month, keeping up with all of the latest news in the holistic and alternative cancer and natural health space. As our family has grown and I have shifted my role to educating and raising our children at home, things have slowed down here. And that’s OK – one day I hope to write and research again when the time is right.

“Better, not Perfect.”

I have loved this little “mantra” over the past few years because, like many of us, I have struggled with not finishing something or even starting something because I can’t do it “just right.”

How often does trying to achieve “perfection” (not a real thing – btw) keep us from doing anything at all?

This has definitely played into me choosing not to write anything at all – because I haven’t had the big blocks of time or energy to truly write pieces that are “worthy” of reading.

I even see this tendency in my children at times, so together we are all trying to do “better, not perfect”.

I’ve been putting this into practice lately over on my social media accounts where shorter is actually better.

Sharing a recipe on Facebook when I have a few minutes or posting a rebounding exercise on Instagram may not be as detailed and “perfect” as information in a blog post, but it is much easier to put out there on a whim. Some will say this is even better than a blog post that many people don’t have the attention span for anymore, so…there’s that.

An added benefit is I am been learning new skills – creating graphics, putting together a “reel”, or dabbling in how to edit a video for YouTube are all new creative outlets, and all can be done in little bursts of time. I publish stories often and share about our homeschool days, adventures, and lots of anti-cancer recipes and tips.

Oh, and just for fun (and because it’s a helpful resource) – today I was reminded of a presentation I gave with Chris Wark at the 2018 HealingStrong conference about changes I made while going through cancer and tips for creating a healing home. I was pregnant with our 4th daughter and Chris gladly did the rebounding part of my protocol in my place. It is a great memory. You can watch that HERE.

If you are interested, the first annual Faith and Medicine Conference is next Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th here north of Atlanta. I will be stopping in for the Saturday morning session when Chris Wark is speaking, and there are a lineup of Christian doctors and practitioners discussing faith in the medical workplace all weekend. You can also sign up to watch online.

I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for all of your support over the years!

The last few days since I heard of Bill’s passing have been somber ones. Bill Henderson was my HERO, a grandfather-figure I could listen to all day. Perhaps this is why his book, “Cancer-Free: Your Guide to Gentle, Nontoxic Healing” was the first book I read to make up my mind to pursue natural, nontoxic therapies to heal my cancer…and it’s still my favorite.

Remembering Bill Henderson
January 18, 1932 – July 4, 2016

Bill was gentle but also no-nonsense, comforting but confident and not afraid to make statements about truth. He was caring, curious, and very, very courageous.

He came into the world of alternative cancer after losing his wife Marjorie from four years of conventional treatment for ovarian cancer. After her passing he was convinced there had to be a different, better way to treat cancer. In the late 90’s he began publishing what he learned, initially as newsletters and then an E-book and his work continued to only get better from there. His last published work, the 4th edition of “Cancer-Free” was co-authored with Dr. Carlos Garcia, MD.

I came across Bill’s book in 2008 when it literally landed on my doorstep. My husband had ordered dozens of books to begin research on any alternatives to chemotherapy for my cancer. But Bill’s by far was the best choice for me to read, being an overwhelmed, emotional, newly diagnosed cancer patient who wanted so desperately to protect my fertility from the chemotherapy I was told was my only option.

He wrote in simple terms without leaving out the science that explains the WHY of cancer and alternative cancer therapies. I loved how empowered I became as I read what was the cause of cancer and WHY my doctor didn’t understand much about alternative protocols. As I read “Cancer-Free,” my doubts were reassured with knowledge and confidence that I could beat my cancer without chemotherapy. I also became RELIEVED as I read, convinced that Bill was an honest, well-intended person who was writing books to teach and help people and NOT to make money off of desperate cancer patients.

Many of you who read my blog often know my story…six months after making Bill’s protocol a cornerstone of my own approach to healing naturally, I was declared in clinical remission and there was no physical evidence of tumor bulk. The protocol Bill recommended in his book also allowed me to continue my nontoxic cancer protocol when I became pregnant 4 months after I was diagnosed, and my husband and I now have three beautiful, perfectly healthy daughters. Eight years later I am still cancer free. Without Bill’s research and sweet demeanor coming out in his writing, I don’t know if I would have taken this path.

Bill’s bravery and diligence to put this information out there was crucial to my healing journey, and his efforts helped ensure my husband and I (newlyweds at the time) would have the family we always wanted. I will forever be grateful for him.

Bill’s Passing

Bill knew that if he was ever diagnosed with cancer he would address it the same way he coached people to do so – by addressing the cause.

He even referred to cancer as “Suppressed Immune System Disease.” So a few months back when Bill, at 83 years old, found himself diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, he knew he needed to address the CAUSE. He was successfully managing it and doing very well, but he was also dealing with thrombophlebitis, a disorder that caused blood clots to the legs. The blood transfusions needed to manage his NHL combined with this condition is what caused his passing. Cancer did not cause his death.

The Legacy of Bill Henderson

Bill truly did the work that God handed him to do and he did it with confidence and humility. My biggest regret is that I never met him in person. Even though I only interacted with him over the phone and through emails, his memory certainly lives on in me, and I hope to honor his legacy in this ever-expanding world of alternative cancer research and application.

If you’re interested in learning more about what Bill taught and coached, you can connect with those who followed and trusted him most on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/billhendersonprotocol. Many of us recovered from our own cancer using Bill’s protocol or are currently doing so today.

And lastly, this is my favorite talk by Bill, given at the Annie Appleseed Conference in 2013. He shines and I can really feel his heart. He was and is just so wonderful.
