Pink-tober….I Mean OCTOBER is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

As I am writing this blog post, the quarterbacks playing the NFL football game on my TV are both wearing pink sleeves. The rest of the team has pink shoes and pink towels. The cheerleaders have pink pom-poms. What is the occasion you wonder???

Well, you probably don’t wonder, because everyone knows that October is breast cancer awareness/ fundraising for pharmaceutical research MONTH!

What many people don’t know, is that almost 100% of the funds raised for all the PINK this month will be used to fund everything BUT alternative/ holistic cancer treatment. We just can’t do that in the United States where all cancer “treatment” must be approved by the F.D.A. and be capable of costing and making lots and lots of money for stock-holders and others invested in large pharmaceutical companies.

The 5K Runs and 3-Day Walks for the Cure will be funding pharmaceutical and surgical research. Most of the Pink Buckets for the Cure and other marketing nonsense will be pouring money into drug research rather than nutrition research for cancer patients! Fellow alternative cancer survivor, Chris Wark talked about this a few months ago, HERE.

I also want to mention Susan G. Komen’s and other groups’ promotion and funding of mammograms as a woman’s primary form of breast cancer screening, even though its safety and tendency to lead to over-diagnosis has raised questions. What about a much safer form of screening like thermography, in some studies shown to be MORE effective than a mammogram?

If you’ve learned my style by now, I really don’t like to focus on the negative impacts of conventional treatment, but I DO love to focus on the many brave cancer fighters CHOOSING integrative or non-toxic, truly gentle and healing holistic protocols.

Please spend some time this month honoring the brave women I documented last year, who had great success in treating their cancer WITHOUT conventional treatment. Their journeys are absolutely encouraging and I am proud to share their stories!

Also, check out my own 3-DAY EAT FOR THE CURE. Give it a try for three days this month and you’ll learn just how intense and serious those of us choosing to beat our cancer through holistic methods are!

Lastly, spend a moment learning about my precious Aunt Toni, who bravely fought cancer and its treatments’ side-effects TWICE, always loving and caring for her family and loved-ones through it all.
