This past September, 2018 marked the 10-year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis. Perhaps I should say that it has flown by, but in reality it feels like a lifetime ago! Choosing alternative cancer treatment has led myself and my family down a lifestyle path I would have never imagined pre-cancer.

10 Things I’ve Learned 10 Years After Alternative Cancer Treatment

For those of you that don’t know the whole story, I was reluctant to try natural therapies at first, primarily because of my family history of cancer and my people-pleasing, rule-following personality, but my husband was adamant that the path of conventional care (chemo and radiation) was not right for us. Here are a few things I have learned along the way.

#10: Most people with cancer have time to explore their options.

I love how Chris Wark puts it: “Cancer is a natural, normal process in the body. Everybody has cancer cells….the tumor is a symptom of a bigger deficiency….a suppressed and overloaded immune system.”

Over the years I have heard hundreds of stories of people who are being rushed into treatment by their oncologist. Please know that in the vast majority of cases, you have time to research a second or even third opinion. Your doctor is a resource to HELP YOU make your treatment decision. You are not entitled to them once you receive your diagnosis. The better you understand your cancer and your options, the more empowered you will feel as you heal.

The average cancer diagnosis timeline is about 3-6 weeks from discovery and testing to treatment starting. What if were you to use that time to make major changes to your diet and lifestyle? (See HERE for nutrition info.)

This gathering of studies (observed mostly in countries with socialized healthcare where patients have to “wait their turn” for treatment) shows various survival outcomes if treatment was delayed. Most of the results were inconclusive- NOT showing an obvious disadvantage in patients who had to wait longer, up to 60 days without any conventional treatment.

When I was diagnosed, my first oncologist (who consulted with MD Anderson) suggested 4 rounds of R-CHOP chemotherapy + possible radiation. We got a second opinion from a second oncologist who said he would be comfortable with our desire to “wait” and change our lifestyle but did suggest I consider the immunotherapy Rituxan (rituximab.) We declined but knew that was an option if Plan A wasn’t effective.

Same cancer, same person, different opinions.

#9: There is no “one size fits all” alternative cancer treatment.

Over the past eight years of blogging I have chatted with A LOT of people recently diagnosed with cancer. The varying kinds of treatment options have only expanded and different people are drawn or led to certain treatments. The important thing is that you pour into research and pray for leading in the right direction.

Depending on your life’s circumstances and family dynamic, financial situation, etc. you will have to weigh the pros and cons of which treatment is best.

Sometimes a purely holistic path is the right choice for now and sometimes a change to a more integrative path is the right way as a reasonable Plan B. If you have a spouse who is unsupportive in the decision you want then some tough, prayerful choices will need to be made. Everyone’s circumstances are different. If you have young children or limited funds your decision may also look different.

I’ve talked to people who have used several months to change their lifestyle and then integrated some conventional treatment, went to an alternative cancer clinic, or had that surgery they were waiting for.

They feel more comfortable that way and I think that is great that they have prayed and researched to that point in order to decide. CancerTutor.com also has a wide variety of ideas for alternative cancer treatment.

Cancer Clinics in Mexico such as Hope4Cancer, or CHIPSA hospital are options as well.

#8: Sometimes a CT or PET scan is just what someone needs to not let their imagination get the best of them.

Some of you will gasp that I even said this- especially with my ongoing stance in support of nontoxic approaches to cancer as a first defense, but let me explain.

Although I don’t LOVE the idea of radiation and toxic, radioactive chemicals that is involved with a PET scan (it helps that I didn’t know any better at the time I received a PET scan), for me it ended up being a part of my diagnosis that was helpful in the long run. I had a very vivid imagination and throughout the staging process thought that cancer was probably all over my body due to the digestive problems I had for over a year prior to my diagnosis.

Turns out that my PET Scan showed very detailed evidence of cancer under my left jawbone and residual evidence in my right rib cage near where the largest tumor was removed for biopsy. But it wasn’t anywhere else that I was imagining it was!

Knowing this allowed me to visualize healing in these areas and gave me peace that I wasn’t disease-ridden like I had thought. If I would have just opted for a blood test like the RGCC or urine test like the CAProfile or Navarro hCG test, I wouldn’t have know this.

#7: “Information overload” is a thing.

Informing yourself is important but overwhelm can kick in quickly. Having an advocate to help you with your research and plan of action within a few weeks after diagnosis will help with the feeling that you need to know more “or else.” The “If I don’t, God won’t” mentality can be overwhelming and taxing to your mental and physical health.

A few tips to help with this:

As a general rule, transitioning to an organic high raw plant-based, nutrient dense, no processed food diet is a great start and will serve as a base for the nutritional side of your treatment.

Doing your best to get 8-9 hours (or sleeping until you wake up naturally) while going to bed between 9 and 11pm will result in the best restorative sleep for healing to take place.

Moving your body everyday through exercise, preferably in fresh air is always going to benefit your health.

As you begin to form an idea for how you want to heal, find a practitioner who is an expert on this form of treatment.

Monitor your progress carefully!

Consider hiring a cancer coach such as Dr. Anja Sonst or Bailey O’Brien to help you get started and whittle down any research for you. You can also purchase the Square One Healing Cancer course which comes with access to the Square One online support group.

#6: Kids + strict anti-cancer lifestyle = HARD.

Enough said. The more my family has grown, the harder it has been to take care of myself in the super intentional way I did when I was first diagnosed. When our first child was born I still had a handle things and was super motivated because it was so soon after my diagnosis. But when baby #2 and then #3 came along several years later I had to be strategic and at times was barely holding onto my sanity. I have learned how to relax some of my strict standards and trust God for my health.

With baby #4 here now, I have to be REALLY intentional and have hired help in areas that I am no longer able to handle alone such as house cleaning and childcare several hours each week so I can prep food and meal plan and overall have some “self care”, aka ALONE time or just simply SLEEP.

I also found that the more time that has passed since my 5-year remission date in 2013, the harder it has become to stick to what I did in the beginning. I have ended up focusing on a clean, high organic plant foods diet with some clean meats, minimal to no processed sugar and making time for myself and my emotional needs, especially when my children are in their more needy baby and toddler years, (although this has been a sloooow learning process!)

I also still take many of my supplements including Beta-1, 3D Glucan and do an Essiac tea detox at the change of each season when I’m not pregnant or nursing.

As with anything, I listen to what my body shows a need for and consider getting labs run for nutritional deficiencies if I feel something is going on.

#5: There is also dishonesty and greed in the alternative cancer industry.

This is a tough one to talk about. I add this in here because in the ten years since my diagnosis, the popularity of alternative and nontoxic cancer treatment has blown up which is AMAZING! But with that has come greed and the ripe opportunity to take advantage of desperate people.

Just because someone is seemingly an “expert” and speaks confidently does NOT mean you should take their ideas and spend a bunch of money on their recommended supplements, herbs, memberships, courses, or clinic stays.

Research well, spot check for other references, and look for themes in advertisement. It is sometimes very difficult to spot a genuine recommendation over one that is fueled by commission on a product or sneaky marketing strategies. This is especially true in social media groups.

In many cases you can find studies on the product or genuine experience, so look for those too and check who sponsored the study. (Unfortunately many alternative cancer strategies are not studied because they are not profitable. When in doubt, go with your gut and not an impulse.)

When someone shares their healing story with the protocol they used, look for long term evidence of their testimony and be weary if they are making outrageous claims or selling something.

You can read my reviews of products and testimonies I trust on my Start Here page.

Often keeping it simple is 95% of a good plan for healing.

#4: Asking for HELP with paying for treatment can be a beautiful process.

It’s not uncommon these days to see GoFundMe campaigns in your Facebook or Instagram feed, but fundraising requires persistent and a shift in your belief to truly gain traction.

The Freely Funded program is an excellent place to start if fundraising is new to you. You can read my full review of what to expect with the program HERE.

If you haven’t been diagnosed with cancer, I also highly recommend obtaining a healthcare sharing membership in place of insurance. Samaritan Ministries is the only one (to my knowledge) that will share expenses for alternative medicine and alternative cancer treatment. We have been members for 6 years and I have had about a dozen various needs paid for, most of them using an alternative practitioner for mine or my families’ needs. I HIGHLY recommend. You can check out all of my blog posts on Samaritan Ministries HERE.

#3: It’s not just about the food.

Healing from cancer is as much an emotional healing as it is a physical healing. For many years I focused intensely on food, ignoring the other aspects to healing.

Many others neglect it too. Your EMOTIONAL health and needs are just as important if not MORE important than your physical needs. Addressing where you are not at peace in your life, where you are holding on to regrets, unforgiveness, heartbreak, or negative patterns of belief is a significant part of your healing and it is ongoing.

I often meet people who just can’t understand this (or perhaps they don’t want to.) They live their life existing and simmering in their own angry, bitter, anxious, depressed juices and have just given up.

There is so much you can do to remedy this once you decide to. Here are just some of the self-help resources that I’ve used and recommend:

An excellent therapist or life coach. Talk therapy, CBT, or just plain accountability can help so much. Complaining about the cost is another self-defeating behavior. YOU are worth it. Invest in yourself and your healing. Welcome the change and believe God will open new doors!

Physical exercise and investing in yourself to better yourself is just as much emotional as it physical. A regular exercise schedule is proven to increase hormones that help you think more clearly and live with more joy and less anxiety.

De-stressing from burdensome people and places is NOT easy, but for those with the strongest will to heal and live, it must be done. Sometimes the most radical decisions are needed to move on from these situations.

Books I have read and found helpful for Emotional Healing:

Jesus Today: Daily Devotional by Sarah Young (the perfect healing devotional)

The Purpose Driven Life: Rick Warren

A Mind of Your Own: The Truth About Depression and How Women Can

The Feeling Good Handbook: Dr. David D. Burns, MD

#2: Like-minded community and support is SO important.

I have written an entire post devoted to online community for holistic and alternative cancer support, but the best support is in person.

HealingStrong natural healing support groups are currently a network of over 130 groups mostly in the U.S. and Canada and with 35 groups internationally. Our groups support our attendees at all levels: education, connection, community, and prayer.

Learn more about our groups at HealingStrong.org.

#1: Don’t be stubborn and dogmatic about ONLY doing natural therapies.

This is a hard one for me to write, but the fact is I have gotten close to people over the past ten years who, for various reasons, did not want to change course on their alternative cancer treatment plan even though it wasn’t working.

If after six months on a focused nontoxic protocol your cancer has continued to worsen and/or you have run out of funds, a prayerful discussion with your doctor and support advocate can help guide you in the direction of next steps.

When my husband and I decided to move forward with a 3-month trial period of nutritional and lifestyle overhaul, we were not dogmatic about it. We knew what our next options were if my body did not respond to what I was doing.

We knew what additional alternative therapies we could add, we knew we could pursue going to a clinic overseas, and we knew we could possibly add in an immunotherapy drug which would not impact my fertility or cause me to be sick like the chemotherapy would have. We also knew where we could pursue funding if we needed more money.

We had next steps in mind but at the same time believed fully in what we were doing at the time. Constant progress evaluation and monitoring is needed when pursuing alternative treatment.

Well there you have it. If I were to summarize all I have learned in the past 10 years in a nutshell, it is don’t lose sight of the forest through the trees.

Healing from cancer is not just about one change or one fix. It’s the result of many small decisions day after day and after day, one step at a time.

Searching for online alternative cancer support? I’ve learned that it’s pretty normal to feel alone when you choose to treat your cancer naturally. It comes with the territory.

You eventually get used to it- feeling a bit like an outcast amongst even your closest loved ones. But it’s our doctors and medical team that can be the most discouraging since our choice is one that goes against mainstream belief about cancer treatment. A community of cancer “thrivers” who are coming from a similar place as you are would be amazing, right? Thankfully nowadays this is totally a reality.

I would have loved to have known about the below online groups when I chose to treat my cancer naturally in 2008. It would have brought such peace and comfort to me to know that others were feeling the same way I was: alone at times, doubtful at times, scared at times, empowered at times- a range of emotions to deal with mostly on my own and questions I didn’t know who to ask.

If you’re dealing with cancer or helping a loved one, spend some time checking out these groups. And if you are a member of an alternative cancer group that is not in this list, feel free to drop the URL in the comments below and I’ll add it to the list!

If you have ever known someone with cancer or another serious illness, then you’ve probably offered up the words, “Let me know if I can do anything to help!” It’s well meaning and generous, but it often doesn’t happen. Here’s why.

People going through hard times usually WON’T follow up for help.

Your loved one with cancer is overwhelmed. They are hearing way too much information and are busy with more doctor visits than ever. Add to that: having to make some very serious decisions regarding their treatment.

If they are of the people pleasing kind (like myself,) then they also may not want to inconvenience anyone. They might think that someone is only offering to be polite (or just don’t know what else to say!)

If they are choosing a more holistic, natural, or integrative route, then they are busy independently researching, drastically changing their diet and lifestyle, and might even be traveling out of the country for the best care.

They may believe that their choice is too different or that people won’t know the unique tasks, food preparation, etc. that comes with a more unconventional treatment plan. OR worst yet- concerned visitors may bring some negative energy or disagree with their treatment options.

This is why you JUST HELP and with absolutely no agenda.

“Let Me Know How I Can Help”

Don’t wait for them to ask for it. Just help. Give them IDEAS for how you can help and they will be more likely to take your offer.

If you know them well enough and are just dropping something helpful off, then just show up. Don’t wait for permission. And let them know ahead of time that you’re not going to stay for long. This will help if they just aren’t up for a visit yet and leaves the ball in their court to invite you to stay longer if they would like company.

A quick note: The list below are healthy or helpful ways to offer support for your loved ones. Some of these options may be a bit extreme for them if they are not used to eating healthy or thinking outside the box when it comes to their health. Take this into consideration when deciding how to help, as you know your loved one best.

Make them a Healthy Options Gift Basket. You can pack various healthy supplements, green tea, organic or natural homemade lotion and deodorant, shampoos, face wash, etc.

Pray for them and give them a healing devotional with scripture. One of my favorite is Jesus Today because it is written for those in a season of healing. I also love Beat Cancer Daily and the tips in my book, The Anti-Cancer Lifestyle Guide!

Buy them the Square One Healing Cancer Coaching Program, which teaches how to live an anti-cancer lifestyle and how to aid the body in its innate healing abilities.

Teach them how to make the 5 Cancer Fighting Juices.

Or the Anti-Cancer Lunch Smoothie.

Go grocery shopping weekly for them using this anti-cancer grocery list.

Set up a weekly grocery rotation for them or have a box of Misfits Market organic produce delivered to them!

If they’re on a healing diet, they will be eating a TON of vegetables. Chop Vegetables for them. Make them smoothie bags to just dump in their blender. Do it weekly or twice a week and store it in airtight containers for them.

Set up a weekly vegetable chopping or meal preparation volunteer rotation for them with their group of friends.

If they have children, watch their kids for them. Tell them to go out for a movie or do something they enjoy to get their minds off of cancer stuff.

Set up a babysitting rotation for volunteers to watch their kids while they go to doctors’ appointments or therapy sessions.

Tell them you want to fold their laundry. Bring over non-toxic laundry detergent for them! If underwear is an issue, tell them to leave that in a separate basket and you will fold the rest.

Buy them glass storage containers so they can bring their healthy meals with them and live a normal life on their healthy diet.

Buy them a juicer or a salad chopper (this could be a group gift, too!)

Pay for them to go on a healing retreat.

Buy them or loan them a Vitamix and teach them how to use it if they don’t know how amazing it is yet!

Juice wheatgrass for them or buy them a wheatgrass juicer that can also be used to juice all veggies and fruits.

Give a monthly donation. Keep it up for as many months as you can. You can even make it for something specific, like “this is for you to get a massage every month,” or “this is for you to get a pedicure or go see a movie to get your mind off things.”

Set up a Meal Train and specify for healthy, organic options only. You can even do this online at MealTrain.com or TakeThemaMeal.com.

If you have beach or lake house, loan it to them to retreat for stress relief. Make it special for when they get there.

My friend and fellow holistic cancer survivor, Chris Wark has created what I wish I would have had after my diagnosis, a FREE guide giving you the MOST IMPORTANT questions to ask your oncologist:

20 Questions For Your Oncologist

It’s unsettling to know that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will get a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. That’s CRAZY when you think about it. For me I think about my two sisters and me. ONE of the three of us got cancer. I’m so grateful that me getting cancer (and healing it naturally) prompted them to drastically change their diet and lifestyle.

20 Questions For Your Oncologist is great to send to a loved one or a parent of your childhood best friend or your high school English teacher, or anyone who has been impacted by cancer and you are helplessly watching from a distance.

It is not just for those of us interested in non-toxic therapies, but for anyone impacted by cancer. No matter how one chooses to treat their cancer, they need to ask the right questions to feel empowered and informed in their treatment choice.

And you’ll be shocked by what you don’t think to ask (and I found myself feeling a bit “cringey” at the THOUGHT of asking some of these questions- but it is SOOO important!)

This guide will give you the answers to everything you need to know.

It will leave you making a decision not out of fear but out of informed and prayerful discernment.

And- It’s FREE!!!!! So you have no reason not to check it out and download it today.

P.S. 20 Questions For Your Oncologist also includes an hour long audio portion I found to be super helpful. It’s so fantastic and I know you’ll love it, too!

Hi Everyone! I meant to get this out yesterday, but as you can see in the picture, I found myself working with HealingStrong and hangin’ with Ty Bollinger, Founder and Host of The Truth About Cancer in person, rather than letting you guys know about the Truth About Cancer replay this weekend. So sorry about that!

You still have all day today (Sunday April, 24th) to revisit The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest series all day for FREE! And you don’t even need to sign up, just click to go to the entire series HERE.

If you’re not sure where to tune in, you can check out my complete 9 episode recap and summary and check out which interview you want to watch. You can also use the timestamps to skip around.

The event I saw Ty and his family at today here near Atlanta was a natural healing event put on by the P4 Foundation. Both Ty and Charlene Bollinger spoke as well as Dr. Veronique DeSaulniers (“Dr.V”)
My family and I were there representing the non-profit we helped start back in 2013, HealingStrong and talking with event participants about our 20 natural healing support groups that we are currently guiding using our Leadership Guide in 9 states and a group in Australia.

My good best friend and fellow holistic cancer thriver, Suzy Griswold (above me in the picture) and I co-wrote the Leadership Guide this past year and now it is being tested and will be revised as we receive feedback from our test groups. Then it will be offered for sale to whomever wants to start a Natural Healing Group empowered by HealingStrong! We already have 75 groups on our “waiting list” to get started once our 20 test groups are finished in the fall!

You can check in at HealingStrong.org to see if a group is starting in your area or to sign up to start the process of being a group leader.

Beautiful and wonderful things are happening in the natural healing world!

Enjoy the Truth About Cancer Replay today, and if there’s anyone you know that needs this information, make sure to watch and/or share it with them as well!

I’ve gotten emails from several of you about when the “Quest for the Cures” will air again and the answer is VERY SOON! And the best part again- IT’S FREE!

The 11-part series will begin March 30th and air one episode each night until April 9th. Each episode will be available to stream for 24 hours after they originally air. After that, they will be available for purchase for a special promotional sale price through the link in this email.

I wrote a blog post last summer about Ty Bollinger traveling to Atlanta to interview me for the episode that included many other natural/ holistic cancer survivors other than myself (you can see me in Episode 11.) He compiled the entire series of interviews into 11 parts:

Episode 1 – Modern Medicine & The Cancer Pandemic
Episode 2 – Your First Line Of Defense
Episode 3 – Eliminate These “Dirty Dozen” To Prevent Cancer
Episode 4 – Your Secret Fountain Of Youth
Episode 5 – Nature’s Pharmacy
Episode 6 – Clean Foods & The Cancer Diet
Episode 7 – Diagnostic “Do’s & Dont’s” – Proven Treatment Protocols Part 1
Episode 8 – Proven Treatment Protocols Part 2
Episode 9 – Proven Treatment Protocols Part 3
Episode 10 – Doctor’s Orders
Episode 11 – How To Survive & Thrive

All you have to do is sign up by clicking THIS LINK and the information on how to view the series will be sent to your email.

There is nothing else like the Quest for the Cures out there. I wish all of this information (interviews with 28 doctors, 10 scientists, and 9 natural survivors,) would have been all in one resource like this when I was diagnosed almost 7 years ago. It would of saved us a ton of time and stress trying to find reputable sources for WHY and HOW alternative and natural cancer treatment works. It would also have been great to show my concerned family and friends!

I hope you’ll SIGN UP and share with your loved ones. You never know how it could change someone’s viewpoint or even save someone’s life.

Hey everyone! Last night was the last episode of The Quest for the Cures. Fittingly, it featured Survivors and Thrivers on what was National Cancer Survivor Day in America.

I hope you have been watching, as each episode has been chock-full of invaluable information. Last night’s episode also included my cancer story along with quite a few others. I was really amazed at the severity of some of the other interviewee’s cancers, and inspired at how they have recovered using simple but very effective non-toxic methods.

Also featured was a 25 minute exclusive interview with Suzanne Somers, who healed from breast cancer using non-toxic methods after turning down chemotherapy.

As a reminder, this last episode, Episode 7, will be online for the duration of today (June 3rd) until midnight. Beyond that, all episodes along with MP3 files, transcripts, and 25+ hours of additional interviews and content will be available for pre-order via a Gold Package or a Silver Package (which includes the same items, minus the 25+ hours of additional content unable to be shown during the weekly episodes). The good news is, for TODAY ONLY they’re offering a 50% off deal to early supporters interested in pre-ordering now. The even BETTER news is, regardless of which package you order and when, they both come with an additional digital set for you to GIVE AWAY to a loved one or a friend in need! LOVE that!

Finally, a big THANK YOU to EVERYONE! who helped spread the word to those who needed it most, and tuned in these past 7 days to learn and be encouraged from watching the series.

Lastly, Ty, if you’re reading this…

I was interviewed and filmed for this video over a year ago, but throughout the craziness of my 2nd daughter’s first year I completely forgot about it!

It’s pretty neat to look back and watch it. I was 34 weeks pregnant and had just finished a week of teaching 4th graders. I forgot how tired I was (and looked.)

In it I talk about my Stage 2 NLP Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis, the reasoning behind my decision to pursue a natural cancer therapy, and about the difficulties of changing from a SAD, processed foods diet to a mostly raw vegan, green, and sugarless cancer fighting diet.

I really admire Lisa Robbins, the founder of Incredible Healing Journals who put this together. She documents holistic cancer survivors and their healing journeys on video, and organizes them by cancer type so you can find them easily on her website, IncredibleHealingJournals.com.

To receive updates on future endeavors and available audio recordings of the 2013 conference, please sign up at HealingStrong.com, and as a bonus you get an awesome E-Book!)

Calling all 2013 HealingStrong Conference Attendees. Can you believe it has been almost 8 weeks since we were together for our first ever HealingStrong Conference and Retreat at the Lodge at Simpsonwood in Atlanta, Georgia? With a sold out, full house of almost 200 people seeking information on nutritional based therapies to support healing, we enjoyed a weekend of supportive education, tools for empowerment and encouragement. Some of the most respected practitioners, researchers, and cancer thrivers shared essentials for each of us to continue on a journey to heal strong. We have heard from so many of you that your lives will forever be touched because of the love and support you experienced at HealingStrong. We are so thankful you shared your weekend with us. Can I just say — WE will never be the same.

On our last day together, Rich Richardson from Red Drop donated a juicer and we gave it to our AMAZING EMCEE, Chris Wark. In keeping with his generous, giving self — he turned it around and said — “We’ll do a give-away for our HealingStrong conference participants.” Well, I heard from Chris last week and he is ready to send it the lucky winner! (He will share a video with the name of the winner who will be randomly selected from those who participated in the HealingStrong Conference and Retreat this last month.) If you want to know what participant wins, please sign up for Chris’ very popular blog, full of wonderful testimonies and great videos (some of you were at the Conference- David Lingle, Ann Cooper, Cortney Campbell, and others…) You don’t want to miss the videos Chris has posted on his website, nor do you want to miss it when he posts THE VIDEO OF THE WINNER!!! Be sure to sign up today to receive his updates by going here.

Since our conference, several of you are interested in starting up support groups in your area, many have reached out and further connected with some of our speakers (Dr. Linda Isaacs, Dr. Veronique Desaulniers, Dr. Judy Seeger, Robert Scott Bell, Ty Bollinger, Cherie and Fr. John Calbom, Chris Wark, Joan Hatrak, Dr. Kate Cirillo, Wendy Hood, Gil Montoya, and Cortney Campbell ) and continue to be empowered in your journey to heal strong. Many of you have reported your interest in future events and some are interested in doing your very own conference and retreat. Some of you are gathering information on how to start your own blogs, and take the hope in healing to others who need it. Our team’s desire from the beginning is that you would take what you learn, implement what you can, and share it with others — pay it forward…share your amazing stories of healing with others who need hope. For those who came and are in the throws of your own healing, please remember to keep the focus on yourself. Dig in — COMMIT, and HEAL STRONG. When you are ready – then, make it count. Your healing is for a greater purpose!

If there is anything we can ever do for you, please don’t hesitate to connect with our team. Please keep in touch and enjoy some of the pics from the event!

So Much Love and Gratitude,

I would be lying if I wrote that meeting Chris Wark wasn’t AWESOME. (Hi Chris!)

He and I had been corresponding via email and Facebook over the last few years since he interviewed me after I first started Green Drink Diaries.

I also talked with him on the phone, almost in tears one day after I received a verbal beat down on a popular cancer support forum for sharing my natural cancer story and new blog. He gave me a big brotherly-like pep talk about how to hold your own on these forums and then openly stood up for me to all the haters by responding to their comments. The forum thread was deleted but my forward thinking husband took a screenshot of the bloodshed before they deleted it. You can find that HERE and the complete post on responding to haters and critics HERE.

I finally got to meet Chris in person at the Healing Strong Conference and Retreat a few weeks ago. OK, I admit it…I did feel like I was meeting a celebrity at first. I ran into Chris as he was coming off of an elevator with Ty Bollinger (who also felt like a celebrity to me) and had one of those weird moments where you recognize someone’s face from the internet but are not sure if they’ll recognize you.

But by the end of the conference, I realized he was a true friend. Super genuine, kind, and very humble. It felt so great to be amongst so many wonderful, Spirit-led people who are healing successfully from cancer without chemotherapy or radiation; in many cases, like in Ann Cooper’s and Chris’s, upwards of 10 years now and leading the way for the rest of us. (:

So, here’s the Campbells’ video interview with him. Hope you enjoy!
